Michael Hoinski

 Michael Hoinski is a journalist living in Austin, Texas.

Michael has contributed to the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Esquire, L.A. Weekly, Texas Monthly, and Texas Observer, among other publications. He is currently editor-at-large for Texas Highways magazine, where he edits the Open Road essay.

Michael also is curator of the O. Henry Museum, the historical home of the short story writer. He develops exhibits and produces the annual Pun-Off World Championships, and in 2015, he published as a fine press book a “lost” O. Henry story, “As Others See Us,” with original illustrations by Pulitzer Prize winner Ben Sargent.

Michael was formerly the Development Director for the Writers’ League of Texas. He has presented at the Texas Book Festival and has appeared on C-SPAN Book TV. He holds a BS in Marketing from Boston College.
