She has been nominated for the Career Achievement Award of Romantic Times Magazine, and is on the list of 100 Most Popular African American Authors.

The Price of Passion, Evelyn PalfreyShe became a self-publishing sensation when her romance novel, The Price of Passion hit #1 on the Essence Magazine bestseller list.

The Price of Passion, was subsequently acquired and released by Simon and Schuster, in addition to her other novels, Everything In Its Place and Dangerous Dilemmas. The Simon and Schuster acquisition was written up in Publishers Weekly, where the books received rave reviews.

Three Perfect Men, Evelyn PalfreyPalfrey has also written the bestsellers, Three Perfect Men (Moon Child Books, 1996), and Going Home (Moon Child Books, 2011).  

In addition, her short story, “The Lady at the Bus Stop” appears in Chicken Soup for the African American Soul, and her short story, “Mama’s Hands” appears in Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul.

Dangerous Dilemmas, Evelyn PalfreyPalfrey is also an Austin lawyer and municipal court judge for the City of Austin. She received her JD from The University of Texas and her BA from Southern Methodist University.

Having served the City of Austin for over twenty years, she recently retired from judging full-time and now serves as a “visiting judge” for the Austin Municipal Court.

Palfrey serves on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas, the Travis County Bar Association, the Travis County Lawyer Referral Service, the Austin Public Library Foundation, and the Writers League of Texas, as Vice PresidentShe is also involved with  The Links, the 14,000 member international association for professional women of color, and the Romance Writers of America. And, she’s a former board member of radio KAZI-FM.
