Award winning novelist and screenwriter, David Marion Wilkinson joins the show this week.

David Marion Wilkinson has published five books. In addition to adapting his own fiction, he has written and co-written a variety of feature-length films.

David’s first novel, Not Between Brothers, was in development for a miniseries with NBC Studios/Kevin Costner’s TIG PRODUCTIONS.  Not Between Brothers and One Ranger: A Memoir have each sold over 100,000 copies.

David is a member of the Texas Institute of Letters and the Writers Guild of America—West.  Awards he has received include the Texas Book Award (formerly the Violet Crown) two Spur Awards, and the Wrangler Award from the Western Heritage Association and Cowboy Museum and Hall of Fame.

He’s worked with Magnolia Pictures/2929, History, Lifetime/A&E and the Discovery Channel. He was a co-writer on History’s 10-hour mini-series TEXAS RISING, and wrote 90% of the TEXAS RISING 14-hour  second season which is in development.   He helped create and appeared in History’s Avenging the Alamo: The Road to Texas Rising, the companion documentary to TEXAS RISING.

He worked as a producer and co-writer on Gray House, a 6-hour mini-series (which remains in development), and helped create the concept for a biopic for The Discovery Channel based on Laura Ingalls Wilder and Rose Wilder Lane, also in development.

David holds an English degree from The University of Texas. He also served as Writer in Residence of Sul Ross State University.
