Julia S. Aziz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, ordained interfaith minister, and author of Lessons of Labor: One Woman’s Self-Discovery Through Birth & Motherhood.

In the first phase of her adult life, Julia worked as a counselor at LifeWorks and the Griffin School, with some long travel breaks to study meditation in Asia and Spanish in Costa Rica. After having her first child, she began leading a personal growth group for teens and working with graduate students at an integrative medicine school. In addition to caring for her three children, she now works as a hospice spiritual counselor and leads independent classes and silent retreats exploring the bigger questions of self and purpose. She loves to dance, write in her journal, take long hikes in the mountains, and spend time with friends in real conversation.

Educational Background:
-Masters of Science in Social Work, University of Texas at Austin. Clinical and Administration focus. Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
-One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, NY. Ordained Interfaith Minister.
-Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Colgate University, NY. Graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
-Advanced training in mindfulness, conflict resolution, stress management, and both personal & professional development.
