Austin-area winners of the 2011 Texas Music Awards share a night of individual performances. Winners include Bob Cheevers, Singer-Songwriter of the Year and organiser of the event…Bob Livingston, Album of the Year for “Gypsi Alibi”…Chris Gage, Musician of the year (Chris will be performing with special guest Christine Albert)…Mandy Mercier, “Academy Award of Distinction” for “Singer in a Roadhouse Band”. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Tim Henderson and Freddie Powers, but Freddie will not be performing and instead will be represented by his protege’ band, “Stop The Truck” in a special finale. NO COVER!!! But donations will go to the Academy of Texas Music.

Bob Cheevers has earned a place in the Americana Music landscape after growing up in Memphis and getting a soul full of music not only from the icons of his youth such as Elvis and Johnny Cash but also from his mother, who was a radio star during the Great Depression performing with the Big Bands of that era.
