Listen to the Interview.

Samira R. Noorali has been writing poetry and studying music since elementary school. In 2006, she graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in English (concentration in Creative Writing) and Psychology. She then earned a J.D. from Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2009 after having won top awards for appellate writing and oral advocacy. Immediately after graduating law school, she moved to Houston, TX where she began to rediscover to her artistic roots.

Noorali founded a youth, new-music ensemble and served as its director, music composition teacher and lyric-writing mentor for nearly two years. Around the same time, she began compiling her poems into a book called, “A Simple Rebirth,” which contains 38 illustrated poems that present a survival narrative when read in sequence. At this time, Noorali is touring to promote “A Simple Rebirth,” writing a short story collection and working on a novel.

You can follow Samira Noorali on her blog, Samira’s Blog… And you can purchase her book on Amazon, though it will soon be available on her webiste,

Gary Graves is an Austin, Texas singer songwriter. Originally from Houston, Gary Graves has made Austin his home since 1999. Graves has performed extensively throughout the Texas & New Mexico open mic circuit. From 2002-2005 he served as co-host for the Cactus Cafe Open Mic Series. During that time, Graves opened shows in Austin for acts such as Ruthie Foster, Alejandro Escovedo, and Eliza Gilkyson.

The songwriting of Gary Graves is a slow burning love letter to the human condition. From the pulse of power and desire, to valleys of loneliness and injustice. The music of Gary Graves is an experience of the celestial, primal, and Spiritual.

In 2005 he released the CD “Love is a Dangerous Thing,” and in May 0f 2013, he released the long awaited follow up CD “Till The End of Time.”

Till The End of Time” marks growth and departure from Graves’ usual guitar and vocal accompaniment. A collaborative effort, the new CD was recorded and produced by longtime friend, and fellow guitarist Ravner Salinas. “Till The End of Time” weaves additional guitars, percussion, and piano all to great effect. The seven year hiatus from recording served as a contemplative dwelling for Graves to pause, look within, and renew his process of creating music that will stand 100 years from now, or rather, Till The End of Time.
