Sam (Samuel R.) Cox was born on October 29th 1948 in Lubbock Texas, the fourth of 5 children. I have lived in various cities in California for 13 years and Texas since 1980.

I enrolled as a student at Texas Tech in 1970 majored in English with a theater minor. My education stalled when I dropped out to move back to California. I enrolled in ACC and accumulated almost hours to earn an associates degree but dropped out to run my own business Comedy Gym, which I founded in 1986.

I moved to Austin, Texas in 1980 to work as a roadie/road manager for fellow Lubbock friend, Joe Ely. I started my own business, Comedy Gym in 1986. I have been teaching stand up comedy writing and performing. I have worked through UT Informal Classes in their adult education program for over 28 years. I have also help workshops various comedy nightclubs including: The Comedy Workshop, The Laff Stop, Cap City Comedy Club, River Center in San Antonio, The Velveeta Room and have held workshops in: Austin, Dallas, Houston Amsterdam, Utrecht and Vancouver, Canada.

I have 3 sons: Jason 47, Jesse 21 and his brother Louk 21. I have been married and divorced 3 times, am currently single and semi retired.

Bill O’Bryant an Austin resident since 1985 started his comedy career with the improve group “Comedy Sports Austin Franchise” in 1988.

Began performing Stand Up Comedy and Theater 1990. Performed at the Cap City aka Laff Stop, Velveeta Room, and toured cities throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Connecticut; opened for Earl David Reed, D’Militant, Kathleen Madigan, and Jamie Foxx.

In 2003 retired from comedy shortly giving birth to his 2nd child in 1999 after complications of not being able to lactate!

However, his love for stand up would not die, so he’s back doing the “Funny” and wants to give Austin’s upcoming comics a platform to sharpen their craft with experiencing live performances and represent them as a manager; then stealing all their money leaving them bankrupt. LOL!
